Worried About My Loss Of Peripheral Vision

Hello,   I have a rare condition called Arnold-Chiari Malformation-herniation of the cerebellar tonsils.
I had occipital craniectomy in May this year to relieve the pressure on my brain stem. But, alot of my symptoms have gotten worse severe headaches, vomiting in the mornings when I rise up from my pillow.  But, what worries me the most is my peripheral vision loss.  I worry about possibility of hydrocephalus being this does happen with my condition and alot of my symptoms would possibly suggest that problem.   Can a patient with hydrocephalus  or brainstem compression affect peripheral vision?
Thanks Ann

Any form of brain compression can affect the visual field by pressing on certain parts of the brain.  If you are concerned about visual field loss, you should discuss this with your ophthalmologist and have a visual field test performed to describe the exact nature of the visual field loss (if any).  This will form a treatment baseline and assist in the determination of the cause.
