Wrong Power Lens

Wrong Power Lens

I had cataract surgery in December of 2007, the wrong power lens was implanted and now my vision at a distance is blurry, and I do not see well out of this eye. Can the correct power lens be put in through a second surgery?

Picking IOL power has never been and will never be an exact science. Most people will end up within +/- 0.50 of the expected power but perhaps 10 % might end up a diopter off.

If you have good vision with glasses the standard approach is to have you wear glasses. If you do not have good vision with proper glasses then the problem is NOT IOL power but something wrong with the eye.

Other options are contact lens, lasik if the eye is myopic/astigmatic.

Only if these options don't work should IOL exchange be done.

Thanks for your answer, the problem is not my eye but the lens. The Doctor told me he over read my eye and he put in the wrong power. Now he wants to do cornea relaxation incision on the eye. I do not know that much about this surgery and don't know what to do. Lasik is not an option, my eye is too dry. Any suggestions on this surgery, would be helpful.

Usse the search feature and read the many posts about LRI and also about IOL power problems. Get a second opinion from another surgeon.
