Yellowish tinge at corner of eyeballs, lots of red veins and muscle pain

Hi,

Got a really weird eye problem which had been developing this past few days,
Both eye's started to feel really bruised (don't really know how to explain the sensation, but its like they are really strained, and even resting for a while doesn't really help). Also it hurts if I move them all the way up or down / left right etc. As you can see from the pic, there is a lot of red veins and there is a bit of yellowish tinge (bit hard to photograph your own eyes :)

Any ideas? Should I get this checked out with an optometrist?

FYI, I work in an office with a really bad air-conditioner - could this be a cause?
