abnormal pupil

Hi im 24 years old, had a motorcycle accdent which caused right eye retina to detached and had to 2 surgerys. First surgery was with gas bubble to keep retina in place but it did not re-attached the retina. Second surgery was with silicon oil but doctor said that the retina was too wrinkled and had too many scars and it wouldnt re- attached, and that i was never gonna see from that eye. So now my question is my pupil doesnt look normal, its not exactly round, will the pupil go back to normal. Will the pupil constrict and contract even though the eye is blind. First surgery was in feb 2 2010 and the second one was in march 2010. Please any information will be appreciated thanks

With the vision so limited and several surgeries and previous trauma, I am not very hopeful that the pupil will regain a natural look.  Surgery can be done on the iris for problems such as this but they are generally done to improve the optical performance of the eye. Since the retina is not working it would not be of benefit in that way for you.  Just for cosmetic reasons, you might be able to wear a colored contact lens if needed at some point.  Ask your general ophthalmologist if that would be an option for you.
