allergy to diamox?

If I am allergic to tetracycline, a sulfa drug, would I be allergic to diamox, another sulfa drug?

I have used diamox for over 30 years without seeing a reaction due to sulfa cross allergy. Discuss with your physician. Try taking one or two capsules while you're still home during office hours of your physician. If you have a problem you can go in to see your MD. If you tolerate it well as is likely you can take it in the wild.

Hi everyone, I believe I am allergic to sulfa drug because I had slight skin reaction 2nd week of taking Bactrim of an infection I had three years ago.

I really need to take diamox for my coming backpacking trip to the high sierras. Is there anyway I can still take diamox?

Some times yes, sometimes no.  Generally diamox is not used with sulfa allergy unless no other good substitute is avalable.
