almost 3 weeks after left eye cataract operation

6 mos ago, I had my cataract operation on my right eye.  It very well and after a few days, my doctor told me that my vision was almost 20/20.

3 weeks ago, I have the left eye done.  I have zero vision on it.  The doctor explained that it will take some time, because the cataract that was left was blocking my vision. On Tuesday 4 days from now..or exactly 3 weeks after the operation, he will do a lazer to clean it out.  And If that does not work it will suck it out.  Now I don't know what that means.  I asked the doctor if I should be concern, he said "not yet".  That if after six months I still have this problem, I should be concern. Could you let me know what is going on?

I can't tell you exactly what's going on. You may have cloudiness of the posterior capsule of the eye and need a yag laser capsulotomy. Or there may be some residual part of the cataract still in the eye (cortex) that may disolve, may clear up with laser or may require a surgery to remove.

These are not uncommon complications of cataract surgery.
