any advice

Hi,
I am 54 years old, had excellent results with Lasik ten years ago, with 20 / 15 vision in both eyes until this year, when my allergy meds ( steroids) have resulted in fast forming cataracts in both eyes. My right eye is the worst, now 20 /50 and very misty. I can see to read perfectly with no eye glasses or contact lenses needed, I can also see the computer screen perfectly. I just wear contact lenses for driving.

I need advice please regarding iols, I plan on having the cataract removal procedure and an iol implant in my right eye. Should I then wait until my left eye is 20 /50 and have that done too, or should i just have it done a few weeks after the right eye procedure ?

Is it true that topical anesthesia is better ( recovery time ) than IV anesthesia?

Now, the main question, what type of lens to go for... crystalens, Restor or Rezoom  or " basic'"?  ( I have no astigmatism since Lasik corrected that.)  Is it more difficult to " measure" the iol power needed by the eye, after having had Lasik years ago ?  I need to be able to see to drive and to down hill ski, I also love to read. What advice would you give please ?
Thanks !

Find an experience surgeon who had done many post LASIK cataracts with the type of lens you want.  Use the search function to learn about these lenses.

You may still need astigmatism correction.  LASIK corrects total astigmatism, the lens plus the cornea.  Your lens has become a cataract and it will be removed.  Therefore the astigmatism in the cornea will have to be corrected.

It is more difficult to measure post LASIK eyes for cataract surgery.  However, there are advanced formulas to help such as Haigis L and measurements with certain topographers, etc.
