around outside of eye lid cuts

For about a 3 weeks now my eye lid around my lashes have been getting worse, it started with an ichy prickly feeling then started getting red around the skin around  lash area then I could see slits starting to form but not opened all the way so bad that i could not get my eye linner on so i quit wearing eye liner it become so iritated, now today the slits around the eye lash area on the top and bottom on tear duck side have turned into  little open cuts and it hurts like heck.. I do have a doctors appoiontment late tomorrow but PLEASE give me so advice so Im not worrying..what could this be?????

Unlikely to be anything terrible so don't worry.  But you do need to see an ophthalmologist for this (hopefully that's who your appointment is with this afternoon) to figure out exactly what is going on.  There are multiple potential causes including infestations of the lashes, allergies, ocular rosacea, some rare systemic problems, etc and only a good eye exam could tell you exactly what is going on on how to treat it.
