My son is just 4 years old.He has been recently diagonised with astigmatism.A  -1.5 and +.5 in both eyes.I recently noticed his problem while reading with him.I am myopic myself.Do you think he developed this quiet a long time ago without our knowledge. What will be his future?will he be myopic like me or is there any chance of him recovering.how can we help to prevent from further damage?

astigmatism of 0.50 to 1.50 is not very much astigmatism and may children do not need glasses for this degree of astig especially if the same in both eyes. There is no way to predict if you child will be myopic just like there is no way to predict how tall he will be.
