bacterial or viral eye infection?

bacterial or viral eye infection?

Hi,
I had a bacterial eye infection about 10 days ago with a really bad cold, and was using "fucithalmic" eye drops, two drops three times a day for 7 days. I finished the drops, but now notice that there's a slight clear discharge from my eyes in the morning... I don't really notice it much during the day, but occasionally there's a bit. I haven't noticed any itching, swelling or redness in my eyes, but I have a bit of a sore throat and congestion. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Is this a new viral infection? or is it the bacterial infection that's just still working its way out of my system?
Thanks,
Jess
ps I am a contact lense wearer, but hadn't worn the lenses at all until about two days ago.

99% of the time its the contact not the infection that is causing the problem. Go in and see your contact lens fittier and discss. Be sure he/she flips your upper lids to look for giant papillary conjuncitivitis when can cause this.
