big diff in eye prescriptiona

i had a retinal detachment in my right eye 8 months ago and now need cataract surgery on that eye only.  my optalmologist suggested monofocal accrylic to use.

1) is this the best lens to use with my case, esp since caaract surgery will only be done in my one operated eye?
2) will my vision be uneven with the big diff in my eye prescription now after retinal detachment and after cataract surgery?
3) can this difference in prescription  and my astigmatism be corrected with glasses and contact lens after surgery?
4) even with cataract surgery done, will your eye prescription/grade change as you get older?  meaning...does your eye precription still go up even after cataract surgery as the years go by?  or does it stop there....?

thanks in advance for your response.
