I had a similar experience. I was told by a dermatologist that the bleeding had caused staining of the deeper tissue (too deep for creams to penetrate) and that only time would help. It's been over a year, and I still have a very small darkened area, which is easy to cover with makeup. (A nonprofessional suggested that I use Retin-A on the area--I don't know whether it helped or not.) I suggest that you consult a dermatologist to get an opinion about your condition. There are several online dermatologists you can consult at no charge.
