black spots/white flash

today, for the first time in my life, I experienced seeing ocassional black spots and then tonight, while driving home in dark, when I blinked I would see a white flash in the right corner of my right eye.  It doesn't seem to be there in daylight or with lights on????????  Is this something that could be a problem

yes. you should see an optomologiest as soon as possible. could be retinal problem - most likely not, but you need to get this checked.
