blindness from radiation

doctor,my wife was diagnosed with a astrocytoma,brain cancer. she had headaches and saw what she called bats. she could still drive,walk,read. when diagnosed they told her they could not operate or she would be a veg.so they gave her 30 treratments of radiation,only taking weekend off.after a month and a half after radiation was over, her eye sight started getting worse.they eye doctor said her eye were hemeraging.he sent her to bacomb palmer eye inst. bacomb palmer sent her to a nuro surgeon who removed the tumor.then she was given fenstrations in both eyes.saving only tunnel vision in her left eye. at no time were we ever told of possible blindness. do you think the blindness was caused by the tumor which should have been smaller after radiation and steroids? or do you think it could be radiation only ,or both. the diagnoses was 8/06,radiatioon was 10/06 -11/06. blindness started mid jan 07.tumor removed 2/5/07 fenstration #1 2/7/07,2nd fenstration 2/14/07. at this time she only has tunnel visionnin her left eye.however she see flashes of light in her right eye,but most of the time she only sees dark shadows in right eye.what is your opinion?

My son in law died of an astrocytoma at age 32. Its a miserable, cruel tumor. You are receiving world class treatment for one of the most aggressive deadly cancers there are. All your wife's problems can be ascribed to this wretched cancer. Without the treatment she received she would likely be totally black blind.
