blood spot in my eye

I awoke this morning with severe pain behind my left eye. I took an Aleve and went back to sleep but the pain continued.  Late this evening, I looked in the mirror and there is now a big blood spot in the corner and every time I look to the right or move quickly I have sharp pain. Is this serious and should I see a doctor immediately?

Dear mscrystal1,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD to determine the cause of your red spot and pain.
