Hi, my mother had cataract surgery 3 and 1/2 weeks ago on her right eye but she is still experiencing blurry vision. She does not have an infection and was told she should continue to take eye drops every 2 hours ( was also told to switch from generic brand eye drop to a brand name ). We are unsure of what's going on and the eye surgeon has not been very helpful during post-op care. Seeking any advice on how to proceed (e.g specific questions we should ask when we see the doctor again).
You can start with "why isn't my vision any better than it is"? and "Am I having any post operative complication that you haven't discussed with me?. Are there any parts of my eye that have problems other than the cataract your removed. Is there any reason to seek a second opinion from another ophthalmologist."
Hopefully you will get straight answers and feel more at ease. If you don't see improvement in the next several weeks and/or the answers don't seem to have been satisfactorily answered then consider asking for a second opinion.
