bump on eyelid from physical injury

I got hit in the eye while playing basketball and now the corner of my eyelid has a small bump. It doesn't hurt when pressed on, but it doesn't seem to go away. it has been a month since my injury and i still see no sign of reduction in size.  consequently i looked up my symptoms online, but I saw nothing in relation. Most of the symptoms descried of are a result of infection to one the glands on the middle of the eyelid. I, however, didnt get the bump from an infection. The lump I got was from a physical injury. I tried massaging the area since that was the only treatment I felt was necessary but that only made things worse. My inability to keep the area clean now caused the infection I described of above. Now I have an infection related bump in the middle of my eyelid and the first bump on the corner of my eye from physical injury. I don't want to consulate a specialist unless I need to.

-thanks

Likely the injury caused bleeding in the lid, the blood contracted and left fibrotic scar tissue. It take a long time for this to go way. Its not likely to need any treatment.

Lots of variability, perhaps 3-6 months

Thanks for you prompt reply. How long do you assume it would take for it to go away, an estimate will do just fine.
