can a blocked nose or teething cause Watery/teary eye/s?

by marzks, Oct 15, 2009 06:39PM
My 21 mnths old son has got watery eye for two days now. It is only his left eye, there is no redness and no sign of infection,i have taken him to the docter and he said there was nothing wrong. My question is can teething cause watery/teary eye/s? I also think that his got blocked nose on that side so can this be causing it? This is the third time he has had this. Last two times he had it it cleared up on its own within an hour or so but this time it has been two days. The eye is not continuously watery but sometimes throughout the day.My son is ot bothered by it at all,he is not touching it or anything but im worried and would like to know whats causing it and is there a possibility that its caused by teething at all and also can he hav a bloked nose on the same side that might cause it?Please help me out
Thank You

a blocked or partially blocked tear duct can cause this problem. Have your child see a pediatric ophthalmologist to discuss they are not enough of them so call now long waiting time is often the case

if it was a blocked tear duct,,any chance of it getting well on its own or there needs to be some kind of surgery, i have a long wait before the appointment.
