can bright light hitting your eye cause dizziness?

I have been having problems occasionally becoming dizzy while driving.  It only lasts for a few seconds, feels like my brain got zapped, but my vision is ok.  At first, it used to make me panic, but now I am used to it, it is just uncomfortable.  I saw an eye doctor and got a minor eyeglass prescription, but this didn't help much.  I am now thinking this might be caused by bright light hitting my eye wrong, as this usually happens when it is bright outside, or the sun is low and coming thru the side of my sunglasses.  I have started wearing those sunglasses with the sides on them, it seems to help.
Can light do this?
Thanks,
Susan

bright light can be disorienting for sure so the answer is yes   but the question is why is this affecting u so much??? u should have a thorough eye exam to rule out possible causes like a cataract.  good luck.
