can diabetes cause vision problems

well i am coing to the conclusion that I do not have nerve damage there might be damage to some nerves but i don't think it is my optic nerve casue the vision gets better then worse sometimes.  so can diabetes cause your vision to be bad and not be able to be corrected with glasses. I used to wear contacts I don't really care if I can wear them anymore I just want to be able to see right again.

So can having diabetes cause my vision problem. O have not been checked yet but I have an appointment wiht my PCXP to have it checked along with the other things that are health problems.

any advice is welcome. thank you

i have seen all eye doctors not one said anything about diabetes. but i am tryig to hit every opinion. the doctor i work for said that it is in no way diabetes cause my vision would be ablee to be corrected . instead of it being a -2.00 it would be a +2.00 mow. so i am going to have my sugars tested and also high blood oressure. I just thought it was weird thaqt it went from bad to good back to bad. and no one knows why. I was told I have nerve damage but wouldn't nerve damage not go from good to bad in a day span. any advice would be great thank you all for the help.

Yes, fluctuating blood sugar can cause fluctuations in vision as well as diabetic macular problems.   Also, there are other causes of fluctuating vision.  In addition to to PCXP, see an eye doctor.
