can fluid resorb after scleral buckle

I had scleral buckle placed in left eye three days ago. At follow-up the next day, the doctor said there was some fluid remaining.  He also said if that fluid did not resorb within a week I would need to go back for the gas bubble.  Is it possible for that fluid to resorb or am I looking at another eye surgery?  Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the response. Is there anything that I can do to help the fluid resorb?

The fluid can absorb but if it doesn't happen soon, the retina may not attach to the buckle allowing a re-detachment. Follow your doctor's advice as far as activity and positioning of your head while you are recovering.
