My son is 22 years old. Had a cataract removed 3 weeks ago from his left eye. But dr said better to leave it at -6 ( his myopia is -8.5 on the right eye ) rather than zero because of depth perception and stability issues. he said if later in life my son gets a cataract on the right eye, then can bring both down to zero.
Anybody with similar experience and would like to comment? Thanks

If you've had cataracts since birth in LE and vision never good then cataract surgery will not make the eye see good. Depending on the thickness of the cataract it might help your peripheral vision, reduce glare and eliminate worries about the cataract "getting too ripe".
