cataract surgery for second eye

Dear Dr Kutryb
Thanks very much for the assurance. I am getting clearer in my understanding. I would appreciate very much for your advice of the following quieries.
1) My right eye IOL lens is Bousch & Lomb Akreous M160 +15. Is it a good brand ?Can I use Alcon for my left eye ? What is the main difference between them? Does certain brand IOL lens contribute to capsule opacity? What are the good and reliable brands ?
2) My  right eye vision settled to -1.00 after two and half months. I would prefer to be able to read mobile phone, read books and computer and  product labels (medium to large prints). Please kindly share your view and recommendation of IOL lens specifications for my left eye.
3)  If the right eye +15.00 IOL lens had adapted to -1.00, what would you recommend for my left IOL lens if I consider (a) near vision  (b) perfect distant vision?
Thank you very much for your kindness and time.

Please give me advice on the power of the IOL lens for my left eye when I am ready for it. I do not mind to lose of some distant vision but able to read books, mobile phone and medium prints of labels of goods on shelves. The followings are my conditions:
Right eye after cataract surgery:- Sphere (-0.75) Cylinder (-0.25) Axis 145
Left eye with cortical cataract: Shpere (-6.25) Cylinder (-1.25) Axis (178)
Presently, even with contact lens (-5.50 -0.75 180) on left eye for distant or -3.75 -1.25 180 for near, it helps mainly in focusing. The right eye seems to take over. Is there a better prescription for my contact lens ?
The IOL lens for my right eye is B & L Akreous M160 +15. Is it a good and reliable lens ?
Your valuable advice is very much appreciated

The MI60 is an excellent lens, so there is no problem using it for your second eye. It sounds like you had a good result with the first eye so you need to sit down and talk with your surgeon to determine what type of vision you are looking for in the second eye.    Option include near plano (for distance), myopia in -0.75 to -1.25 for intermediate and slight near vision, or low myopia in the -1.50 to -2.50 range for useful near vision. Talk to your doctor and come up with the best option.

Thank you very much for the valuable advice and assurance. I put on  hold the left eye surgery. As my left eye (-625) became red after wearing contact lens for few hours, I stop wearing contact lens and just depend on my right eye vision. So, my right eye feel tired easily. Just wonder any solution of coping with redness of the eye caused by contact lens ?
