chronic dry eye

by val316, Jan 06, 2009 04:40PM
I've been battling what was thought to be pinkeye since the end of October with many antibiotic ointments and drops.  I would finish the round and the pinkeye would return. Finally got to see an eye doctor today and was told that I have dry eye. My question - when my eye was had "pinkeye" symptoms, I would have a light brownish discharge in the morning. So, can one have pinkeye like discharge with chronic dry eye?

This discussion is related to Conjunctivitis and dry eye.

Many dry patients also have blepharitis (inflammation or infection of the lashes of the eyelid).  The treatment for this is usually lid hygiene--cleaning of your lids with a product such as Ocusof.
