Hi

I had the same problem for a year, found out it was a blocked gland of lower eyelid.  You have to bathe the eye with a hot towel ( the hottest you can stand) and rub gently back and forth on the top lid twenty times and the same on the bottom lid.  It will take one/two weeks to clear but it got rid of mine and nothing else did.  Try it, once in the morning and once at night!

Dear eoe4317,

Without an eye examination, it is difficult to assess what problem you are having.  Redness can occur with blepharitis or meibomitis or an inflamed pterygium.  I would recommend that you seek the opinion of a corneal specialist, eyeMD, to determine the cause.
