colored fine line streaks for someone w/AMD

I have bright luminous streaks of fine lines that appear in my field of vision, The lines often vary in intensity, following no known pattern but are generally present.
The streaks (short sections of essentially parallel bright orange thin lines that give the illusion of flowing)  and are not, I believe, hallucinatory (Charles Bonnet syndrome) nor are they more prominent in the central field of vision,  and are visible in both eyes, with or without corrective lenses.  These generally diagonal :shimmering" “streaks” are mostly bright orange “neon” in color but can be either blue, red, or yellow, also luminously bright and appear as streaming rain, flowing to the ground or rapidly flowing water in a stream.  The flow appearance is generally down.    The parallel lines are very fine (thin), coloring an estimated less than 10% of the total field of vision and are more intrusive when ambient lighting is dim, although they can be observed on a sunny road in daylight..
The “density” has increased somewhat in the past several months, possibly since MRSA infections in March 2010.
It is not a hallucinatory vision.
An example in point : this morning, while attempting to trim my beard in a brightly halogen-lit, full mirrored bathroom, my face was less clear because  of bright green streaks across my image in the mirror.
During a recent MRI brain scan I advised the technician of  my vision discrepancies and the procedure was expanded but nothing that was analyzed to be contributory or related was observed
I believe I can influence the degree of interference these streaks exert in  my vision by trying to unfocus them but as far as I can determine they are involuntarily and continuously present.   I also recognize that I can influence the apparent brightness of these lines to minimize the distraction but I do not seem able to completely remove them from my field of vision just by willing it so.
