Good advise from JodieJ and 2ndsight.

I haven't had problems with my Crystalens implant but some other patients lately have also been reporting problems with seeing at some distances. As Jodie stated in another post to someone else, the choice of surgeon is really important, not just the lens. If you go with Crystalens or ReStor, make sure the surgeon is highly experienced, implanting that lens on a regular basis, and has a high degree of patient satisfaction.
the complaints about ReZoom on this board are many, and none of the MDs here recommend it
The Crystalens provides crisper vision than the ReStor or ReZoom and better distance and intermediate vision. Problems: Poor near vision, glare, halos.
The ReStor provides the best near vision. Problems: Ghosting, glare, halos, waxy vision, poor intermediate vision, long adaptation time.
ReZoom has been associated with many problems, including severe night vision issues (halos, starbursts, glare), ghosting, long adaptation time.
Overall, your best bet for a problem-free outcome with crisp vision at all distances is monovision with aspheric monofocal IOLs. (Most people are can quickly adapt to monovision.) The runner up is modified monovision (aka "blended vision"), which allows most people to function without glasses except for prolonged reading or seeing small print.
