comprehensive eye exam

Good afternoon doctors
I have had two eye exams in the past 12 months with two opthalmologists and one with an optometrist. All of them said my eyes looked healthy. I went to the them because I was worried about the funny things i was seeing, like in the corners of my eyes, as well as various dots and spots.
If I have had all these eye tests, is it alright to assume these are what lots of people write about - entoptic phenomenon?
I am 40 years of age and no not wear glasses. I am not on any meds but do have an anxiety disorder. I am constantly looking at these things i see - i think to the point of obsession.
Do i just need to learn to trust my doctors? I don't believe them when they say my eyes are healthy and wonder if they are missing things?
Thank you

It's unlikely that three examinations overlooked anything seriously. It's highly likely that your anxiety is fixating your attention on "background" entoptic phenomena that we all have. From monitoriing this forum I would say that most people that get obscessed with entoptic phenomena have anxiety disorders and/or clinical depression.

Thank you for explaining that, though it feels like and "chicken and egg" kind of situation. I'm sure I noticed the weird visual stuff first.

So can I learn to "unnotice it"?

Your ability to tune it out will generally parallel your ability to control anxiety, tension, stress and depression in your daily life.

It's like I can see globs in my outer peripheral vision, similar but not the same, in each eye. when i turn my head from side to side they move too and are most noticeable.
i went to the doctor when I noticed it in one eye but now i see it in the other eye.

Since things have changed since you had the three exams consider going to a neuro-ophthalmologist (eye MD). You can go to the website of the American Academy of Ophthalmology www.aao.org and use the Find An Eye MD feature to locate one in your geographic area.

Well, since the doctor noticed wrong with the one eye that had it, I thought I might take and wait and see approach. i don't like the idea of all those bright lights again and the things on my eyeball!

I thought what I am experiecing might be a normal thing all eyes have but I am just becoming obsessed with looking for it all the time, so I see it.
