corneal ulcers/ corneal abrasion

How long after healing from a corneal ulcer can i wear contacts again? I wear contacts 24/7 and that's how I got the corneal ulcer. My eye started turning red and my eyelid started swelling but I didn't think much of it. I let that go on for 2-3 weeks because visine was helping clear up the redness. Then it just got worse and visine wasn't working as well so I went to my eye doc. and he said I had 3 corneal abrasions. He gave me vigamox to put in my eye every hour on the hour and I had to go back the next day. I went back and had to see a different doc. and he said that I have a corneal abrasion that got infected. He told me to continue with the vigamox but only put them in every hour that I'm awake. I just want to know when I can start wearing my contacts again and when the redness will go away?

You need to discuss this with your doctor.  You can not wear the contacts while the eye is red.
