What you describe is likely Band keratopathy (usually doesn't come and go and antibiotics don't do anything to treat calcium deposits). If you otherwise have great vision potential with your retina and your nerve is healthy, you may want to consider the corneal transplant. Otherwise, see a cornea specialist to consider other less invasive treatments to relieve any symptoms you may have from it. Usually though if an eye has bad enough corneal calcium deposits, the visual potential is poor. Also, transplants don't always due well if the outside edges of the cornea are not too healthy. In either case, you need to see a cornea specialist. Find one in your area at www.aao.org.
