correctable vision

correctable vision

If my vision is 20/100 in one eye and 20/200 in the other, how corrected can my visual acuity go? I mean, can I get one eye to be 20/40 and the other eye to by 20/80 by using prescription glasses or contacts? Is there a correctable limit? In other words, can you only correct vision 30 points so it would only be 20/70 or what? Please advise. I really am afraid of losing my license. Thank you

It depends on the overall health of your eye.  If no serious problems should be corrected to 20/20 as cwatt suggests.  If there is a problem other than myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism, you need to discuss it with an ophthalmologist who has examined your eyes.

Absent any other eye issues, there should be no difficulty correcting your myopia by prescription lenses or contacts.
