cylindrical power in my four year kid
Hi,
We did an eye test for my daughter today and found that she is having a cylindrical power problem.
This is the report
Cyclogic Exam OD -0.25 -0.75 170
OS -0.50 -0.50 170
and the doctor as asked us to visit again for a review after three months.
How serious is the problem based on this report? Is it curable? and what are the precautions that we have to take to make sure that it doesn't worsen.

1. That is a very weak glasses RX and many children do fine without glasses. 2. How cooperative was your child? Many children do not cooperate and the glasses RX is suspect especially if its a commercial outlet or they do not specialize in pediatric eye care. 3. The most important thing you don't give and that is the vision with and without the glasses. Likely there is not much difference. 4. If the child has not problems with vision and vision is same in both eyes then following without glasses is in general acceptable. 5. If you are conflicted see a pediatric ophthalmologist for a second opinion.
