I had opthamologist checkup one week ago. All okay,he said. Yesterday, I stooped to pick something up and immediately felt dizzy and wound up with a dark shadow in my right eye, with a (now this is hard to describe to you)
shimmering or quivering figure in the far right area of that eye. It was a light colorColor blindness Color blindness tests Color vision test. That's
the only way I can describe it. The dark shadow over my eye left in the next few minutes,
or maybe a half hour. I don't really know how long that was, I was so scared. But the
lighter colored figure (kind of looked like a square of polka dots, or something akin to it) is
still with me today. To help you, I have had dry eyes lately, headaches before I arise in the
morning (not migraine strength though), my eyes don't like brightBright beginnings lights lately. Also, I had
to see a retina specialist about ten years ago, but then my opthamologist said he could do
the testing. I do have cataracts, which they consistently tell me "are not ready yet". I've
heard that for years. Can you help me decide what to do or is there another kind of doctor
I should see now? Is there a higher ranking eye doctor than an opthamologist? Just wondering.
Please see a retinologist tomorrow. You have symptoms that need to be check TOMORROW, You can eve call your ophthalmologist today and get a referral. Otherwise, find one at www.aao.org.
You have some symptoms that need to be checked immediately.
I am not a doctor, but have last the vision in my left eye due to a very bad accident. ALL the doctors have said I have lost the vision for good and I have to get rid of the left eye so the right eye can be saved. I have consulted about five majorMajor tears Major-gesic eye hospitals in India, seven university hospitals in USA, two in UK, three in Germany and two in Australia. Every one said I have no hope.
One of my friends from US suggested I consult one specific Ayurvedic Eye Hospital in India mentioning several patients with problem declared not curable were corrected by that hospital and they may have some thing for me.
I visited them and found that these people know what they are doing. My left eye which had shrunk totally and had no pressurePressure ulcer at all has started grwoing in size and I can feel pressurePressure ulcer is building. Once the eye grows sufficiently, they will look into correcting my retina. It is a slow process, but without any surgery or laser treatment.
Cost of treatment and living expenses for three weeks will be around US $ 1,000.00, plus your travel to the hospital. It may be necessary to make three or four visits.
The hospital is safe from every point of view and there are several Europeans, Canadians and US nationals who visit them regularly for treatment and find improvement.

You must see an ophthalmologist Monday morning. You could have a number of serious problems from retinal detachment, blood clots in the retina, TIA, ophthalmic migraine.
There is no higher ranking eye specialist than an ophthalmologist. Some ophthalmologists subspecialize in : retina, glaucoma, oculoplastic, pediatrics, neuroophthalmology, cornea/refractive, low vision, cataract/anterior chamber.
Yes. You might try an eye doctor who has training in /retinas/retina surgery. Find one at www.aaa.org. They are called retinologists or vitreoretinal specialists.
My symptoms were there when I saw an ophthalmologist. But he made light of them. TWO DAYS later the symptoms worsened. The doctor woud not return my call. The ERs would not help. Please get help right away.
Most eye doctors would be more helpful than the one I had. I am giving you my story just to let you know that it can happen. No matter who you see, insist on help.
The best to you.

In case your retinal specialist says nothing can be done for your eye, please get into the website "SREEDHAREEYAM", you can get some idea. They mention they have a magic wand by weilding which they can restore the vision and I think they are right in that claim.
