delayed visual maturation

by tasha36, Oct 07, 2007 12:31PM
my thirteen week old little girl is not fixing or following/apears blinde back normal but a repeat one will be done in two weeks time. An eye examination revealed her eye is normal. She does not have The Doctors have stated it may be delayed visual maturation. She does not have nystagmus and they said she reacts to light. How likely is this and what exercises can we do with her to stimulate her sight. We are worried that it is more serious and that she has ONH/damage to her cortex/basal ganglia. I had an uneventful pregnancy but an emergency caesarean was required though ressucitation was not needed. We live in the UK and she has been referred to Great Ormond Street hospital for sick children for further tests.Thank you so much.

Eye exercises and diet supplements are not likely at all to help this problem at all. I'm afraid there is nothing for you to do but wait for further evaluation, see what happens with the passage of time and hope and pray that things turn for the best.

Best wishes for above.
