detached eye retina

After the surgery of the detached eye retina, what I'm wanting to know is you have to be face down for 72 hrs. Can you get up and for how long? Do you eat your food lying face down, really just want to know the whole ropes of this after surgery and how to cope, what are the easier things to do?

I had to 'look down' for 2 weeks following each eye surgery.  I did get up to eat....I used a flat screen TV on my bedroom floor.....either laid on my stomach to watch or sat at the edge of the bed, looking down.....I did get up and walk around occasionally, otherwise you can't endure it.....

It varies only your surgeon can tell you what you have to do.
