MDs will deny until their faces go blue, that the fundus exam is 100% safe. I'm sorry to say this is not true in all cases, I had my vision deteriorate after every light intensive test they performed.
I developed eye floaters after my first exam as well. Never had any problems till now with my eye. I can see if if was only only one eye, but my floaters developed in both eye at the same time after my first ever eye exam ever. I'm 29 years old.
im glad u make me feel safe now, im just supper paranoid that since my eyes weren't dialate, the light might damage it more, but you said it not, so give me relief.
now i need to go for full dialate exam, im scareeeee..
thank you dr.
the dr. check my eyes and he said my left eye is fine, but my right eye have 1 small tiny hole on my retina.
i'm freaking out, since my eyes weren't dialate and he was able to see 1 small tiny hole, if it dialate he probably see more holes.
u right, i think i need to go back for a dialate exam.
The exam will not cause floaters. This is probably the natural course of the vitreous detachment. You need a dilated exam.
Also, read my comments on a similar post after yours.

it is possible for an eye exam where the doctor shine the light to your eyes to check for retina when your eyes not dialate cause any damage? that is what i'm trying to ask, any doctor please answer? please thanks
note: i am high nearsighted, and i been seeing things more blurry lately and i see halos and rays, that is why i went to this retina dr.
maybe the floaters got nothing to do with the light he shine to my eyes, but i'm just worry, i want to hear your opinion doctor, thanks
