diabetic retinopathy

My father is a diabetic patient from the age of 36 and has undergone catract operation in the year of 48 int he left eye and after lazer treatment the left eye does not have any vision now does not have any idea why it happened. Then my dad undergone catract treatment in the right eye and after that he came to knw that he has got glaucoma and after consulting different doctors he found that he is suffering from retinopathy....the last time he consulted a doctor he has been told to take 3 times avastin injection subsequently for 3 months one injection each month but he has already taken 2 times avastin few months back and doesn't help him much to improve his vision.I noticed that the blood presure in eye always use to rise because of which doctors are unable to inject avastin injection until it comes to normal.
Therefore i just want to know that is there any possible way that my dad get treated so that his vision will comes back.Thank you very much.

yes the elevated pressure in the eye is treated with glaucoma drops like travoprost and timolol drops,combigan,hypersol-5 solution and latanoprost ophthalmic solution......instead of all this the pressure in the eye goes up at an interval of 3-4 months approximately.I also have some scanned copy of some prescriptions and angiogram which he has done few months ago during his treatment so if you can give me your email address then i can send you the copies so that you can know the actual conditions of the patient. And for the left eye my father has undergone catract operation and then after few months gone for regular checkup then he was told that bleeding has occured in the eye so have to undergo laser treatment after that his vision in the left eye has gone. Please help sir.....Thank you..

Too little details for such a complex problem.  Avastin is used for many complications of diabetic retinopathy from bleeding from the retina, macular edema, and rubeotic vessels in the angle which can cause glaucoma.

The standard treatment for proliferative diabetic retinopathy is pan retinal photocoagulation. Loss of vision is after laser is extremely rare.

Is the elevated pressure in the eye being treated with glaucoma drops?

Dr. O.
