double and blurred vision

by choover, Apr 13, 2009 04:38PM
A few weeks ago I had a yearly eye exam.  With my contacts my vision had not changed, however, my glassses prescription had greatly changed.  Soon after, I noticed difficulty seeing when driving, especially at night.  Four days ago I began experiencing double vision in the left eye and some blurring.  It also feels as if the left eye quivers during these "episodes".  Shaking my head or squeezing my eyes shut seems to stop it temporarily.  I visited my doctor on that day and they found that if they turn my head, the double vision goes away.  Also, the double vision is vertical.  Any idea what could be causing this? I have experienced it to some degree for the last four days.  I have a follow-up appt with my dr's in two days....

No double vision is one of those things that requires a real live exam. Discuss this with your "doctor" you should probably be referred to a strabismus specialist Eye MD ophthalmologist. Find one near you at www.aao.org
