droopy eyelid

My 7 old son has a droopy eyelid, he has had 2 operations but is still a problem and his eyesight is suffering because of it, it covers about half of his pupil.  Im wondering if it is worth putting him through another operation, the last one did not make any difference what so ever and i am also worried because he can not close his eye properly now and surely if it was lifted further that would cause problems/

For this case, you need to have your son see a pediatric oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in childhood ptosis surgery which as you already know, can be quite challenging. I recommend a major university teaching hospital like Univ of Pennsylvania, UCLA, Will's Eye Hospital etc.  From my perspective the best thing I can do is direct you in the direction of the most qualified surgeons for this particular job. You are absolutely right that it can sometimes be difficult to achieve that balance of opening the eye further and allowing the eye to still close enough for proper protection. This, again requires an experts touch and experience.
