each of my eyes sees a different color

What would cause my left eye to see color differently then my right eye.. I first noticed this about 30 years ago . I'm a photographer and realized I was shooting with my left eye.. I noticed this difference in color while trying to train myself to use my right eye as it is much easier to advance film..  Color from my left eye was much more pleasing to me.. I really have no idea how long this color difference had been with me but my use of my left eye was probably  an unconcious result of the difference. I was told by an eye Dr. that it could have been a brain injury..  Any ideas?   I am developing cateracts and am seeking advice on how soon should I have them removed.  In the past few months my eyes are quick to stress and hurt... hard to focus and dry eyes are  a problem..  long question.. sorry..  Thanks for any comments or advise..    France

#1 cause cataracts. Since you are a photographer as the cataract develops it's like taking a picture through darker and darker yellow-brown filters. If the filters are of different strength then the color saturation differs. BTW  this selectively filters out blue so that when we do cataract surgery many patients want to know why everything is so blue.

Other causes could include optic nerve and macular disease.
