enlarged optic nerve

a year ago the dr said that my 12 yr old has an enlarged optic nerve and should see the dr n a yr . lastnite he went blind in the same eye for about 5minutes we took him back to the dr today and they wanna run some blood test do i have anything to worry about

I would recommend that you continue to find out the cause of the enlarged nerve and the loss of vision.  Make sure to see an eyeMD specializing in neuro-ophthalmology.
