extreme visual disturbances when waking

hi, i have been having trouble with my eyes since the end of july.  symptoms include: floaters, after-images, visual snow.  over the last month or so, i have extremely heavy visual snow upon waking for about 1 minute.  also, i will wake up in the middle of the night ocassionally and see what i can only describe as a kaleidiscope image (only not in color).  the other symptom that occurs about weekly is that i will see a black opaque large circle in my vision when moving my eyes, but only upon waking for a few minutes.

i have been to 2 opthamologists and 1 specialist.  i have had all standard optho tests done and a visual field test.  i also have an appt scheduled with a neuro-optho in 2 weeks.  the only things any of these doctors have found so far is that i do have floaters, my eyes are dry, and the 'disc' in my optic nerve appears slightly larger than someone at my age.

any idea what could be the cause of my symptoms?  do you think it is nerological related or related to my eyes?  any information or suggestions you can provide are helpful.

thanks.

I have the same thing! Did you ever find anything out? Should I be worried?

Visual snow seems to be something that shows up on the internet but not in the office. I have never had a patient complaint of visual snow. I can't add anything you will have to wait till you see the neurologist/neuroophthalmologist
