eye blood vessel

I looked over to the right side of the wall and a blood vessel burst in  the corner of my left eye and stung for a second, like it just burst and now I have a broken blood vein. Do you know what caused this and can I do something to help it.

This sounds like a subconjuctival hemorrhage and I usually have the patients come in to the office to be looked at because they are often very concerned.  It should go away in a week or two on its own.  It is important to see an ophthalmologist if you have any pain, discharge, flashing lights, floaters, loss of vision in the eye or if you injured the eye.
