eye capsule

I had retina detachment surgery which was related to a capsule rupture during cataract surgery. I have 2025 vision in the eye but no doctor seems to be able to explain the haze I see. The pupil was unnaturally dilated after the surgery and I was given drops to reduce it, thinking that was the problem. It has not done anything. The doctor thinks it might be the outside rim of the emptied capsule. Is this possible? He mentioned laser surgery to correct it but only after the irtis inflammation goes away. Is that ever done?

If you are 20/25 that is pretty good after the major complications you have been through.  This may be as good as it gets - and be thankful it is not much worse.  You're fortunate to be this good considering.  You probably have vitreous floaters, sluggish pupil, capsule remnants, possibly epiretinal membrane - all of which would reduce your vision - not of which can be easily remedied.
