eye itching that seems to be hereditary

Hello Doctor,
My 10 months old boy seems to have a family long age problems which is eye itching that seems to be hereditary.
As a child growing up i had this constant itching of my eyes that later created a fairly dark patche around my eyes. Though i had this frequent itch on a daily basis up till now and i am 35yrs of age, i also realised my father and his sister had it also. Now am afraid my own child has got it as he already has that dark patch around his eyes due to this frequent itching. I see perfectly well and back in those days i visited some clueless optician that gave me various eye drops and even recommended glasses when i knew that was'nt the case at all. Please advise, can this be treated or do we just accept our faith as thats the way we are born.

There are eye drops for itching.  I am not sure if they should be used in a 10 month old.  Consult your pediatrician.
