eye muscle pain

eye muscle pain

I have had muscle pain behind my right eye. It is sore to touch it and sometimes there is a twinge. I am in front of a computer all day and wear reading glasses but it is only my right eye that is sore.
I had surgery for a benign meningioma about 5 years ago, (golf ball size right above my right eye).I don't know if the surgery affected any of the muscle behind my eye or not.
I sometimes have a "heavy" feeling in my eye, too, as if it's more comfortable keeping it closed.
I do notice that part of my face is a little more droopy than the other side. I am 48 years old.

I would suggest you see a neuro-ophthalmologist at your earlist opportunity. Be sure to bring your old records with you to help the doctor make the best decisions about your situation.  -Roy Rubinfeld, MD

Your medical history could be a factor in this problem you describe. I suggest you see an ophthamologist for a comprehensive medical eye examination. If no problems are found you might check back with your neurosurgeon and see if he/she wants to repeat a CT or MRI scan.

Good luck

Thank you for your response. I do have an appointment with the opthamologist but the first appointment isn't until September.
Because I have moved to a different state recently I am setting up appointments with all new doctors. I am looking for a new neurologist too.
The neurologist that did my surgery told me chances are the tumor wouldn't return. But, it is a thought always in the back of me head. (or in my case in the front!!)
Thank you for your time.
