eye surgery & work

I had  bad case of a detached retina, I had a buckle put on my right eye, when I found I was having more problems with it at work, as I work outdoors, directing traffic I was told I had no job.
They tried to get me to do another position, but would NOT work with me to locate a proper position, now work with me.
I also had eight holes in the left eye, which are held together by lazer treatment.

What do I do, I was told to be careful what types of positions I had, as I had to take care of my eyes, that something
didn't let go.

What do I do?

Should I be cautious on what positions I have?

Absolutely! If your doctor told you to maintain positioning, you really NEED to follow orders. Positioning allows the retina to seal and heal. If it doesn't you are looking at more surgery and vision loss!

The positioning restrictions usually just apply until laser or cryo scars form or until a macular hole seals and gas is removed.

Discuss your employment situation with your surgeon and ask for an estimate when restrictions will be lifted.

Also you can go to your state's Vocational Rehabilitation department.
