eye toxoplasmosis - I need help

Hi there, my daughter has scars in her eyes due to toxoplasmosis. She is 29 years old  before one year the doctor tell us about these inactive scars (maybe congenotal). She didn't know anything about them and she never had any problem (vision problem or reactivation). Now she wants to become pregnant but she is scared. Is there a correlation between pregancy and reactivation of these scars? Is there a problem if she has cesarean? And what about other surgeries in the future... I am so anxious...

She never had a reactivation before. Is it sure that some time it will happen? Not only during pregnancy but in general?

Thank you in advance.

Dear euthimia,

While it is possible for reactivation to occur, the exact of incidence of recurrence is not known.  It is important for your daughter to be evaluated by retinal specialist and to be followed during pregnancy.
