eye twitches

Posted by chris on June 07, 1999 at 21:25:11
For the past six months my left eyelid has had a consistent twitch.  Ocassionaly the right eyelid will also twitch.  I can't identify anything that triggers it in particular.  During that time, however, I have been under stress and also started using a computer consistently at work.  I have tried taking vitamin supplements, improving my diet, and getting more sleep, but nothing is helping.  If I focus on relaxing my eyes, it seems to help, but only for a short period of time.  I would appreciate any advice.  Thanks.

Chris,
Twitching eye lids are very common of usually not of any significance.  It can be annoying however.
Sometimes stress, lack of sleep and caffeine can make it worse.  If reducing this does not help, you may have to get used to it.
If it persists, you should have a complete eye examination with an ophthalmologist.
