eye weakness after a rk opration

i got my eyes operated R.K . in new delhi in 1989  [for removal glasses of no -5.00 in both eyes . one eye after operation was 6/6 but other one not cleared and after 10 years my eyes started weakening . now I am wearing glasses onf +4.5 and some cylender 180 degree on the same eye which was good and very hard to read news ppr . work on computer , eyes get dry and no is rising every 6 months

We now know that RK wasn't a very good operation and many people that had it for myopia are now quite farsighted like you. It's very hard to "fix" and its not likely that lasik would offer you much.

You likely need to wear bifocals now. See a good cornea/refrctive Eye MD to discuss your options. If you are younger than 40 ask for a post cycloplegic refraction. Ask the surgeon about progressive bifocals.

You may wish to consider collagen crosslinking. google the words "collagen crosslinking rk  ". It will not reverse the problem but it may stop progression. I had rk 15 years ago and the only problem I have is fluctuation during the day. ( farsighted in morning and nearsighted at night). It has not been approved yet in the US but it may be available in India.

Collagen crosslinking is not likely to help post RK retinal problems. In K conus the cornea is become more curved (steeper) in post RK the cornea is becoming less curved (flatter) and the cause is not structural weakness but scar contraction.
